Solution to High Temperature: Heat Insulating Agent

What will you do to minimize the high temperature coming from your applications or products ? Are you using conventional or innovative ways ?
In this world, there are several applications that deal with high temperature coming from either internal or external sources. Some of those examples include production plants, pipelines, roof etc.
Why is there a need to be concerned about the high temperature? The high temperature can cause several issues such as:
- Energy Efficiency Loss
- Safety Issue (eg. Danger from Burnt)
- Metal Corrosion
The traditional ways to deal with such issues are by using cellulose, fibreglass or rock wool as insulator. However, these have two limitations:
- Space Issue – For the better insulation, the thicker layer of insulator is required
- Weight Issue – These insulators are considered rather heavy.
So what could be the solution to overcome these limitations? Our suggestion is to use chemicals needed for heat insulation coatings or thermal insulation coatings (TIC). Maha Microsphere H-40, our solution, is used as insulator in these types of coatings.
Our Solution: Maha Microsphere H-40
Maha Microsphere H-40 is an ultra-light weight inorganic material with hollow structure. Its true density is 0.20-0.60 g/cm3 and 2-120 micron in diameter. The features are light weight, low thermal conductivity and high compressive strength.
Its main application lies on heat insulation coatings for:
- metal roofs
- steam pipes
- ducting work (air-conditioning & heating)
- tanks for chemical storage
- boilers and refrigeration units
Efficacy of Maha Microsphere H-40
Below is an experiment conducted in a laboratory. An ordinally paint and a heat insulation coating were painted on a cement fibre board respectively. The paint surface were exposed to high power spot light for 5 minutes. The surface temperature of ordinally paint increased to 45 degree C and the heat insulation paint is only 32 degree C. The difference is of 13 degree C. The test result showed that low thermal conductivity of microspheres in heat insulation coating is effective in slowing down the heat absorption.
